New way to make money using Wordpress

I was browsing thru the Blogitive’s members blog when I saw this headline – A New Way to Make Money Coming Soon but only on Wordpress Blogs with your own Domain. Naturally, I am excited – because lately, I didn’t get much task from Blogitive. Any new thing is always exciting to me, so I guessed I’m going to wait for it to happen. However, it only apply for members with Wordpress installed on their own domain – so that means those hosting with Wordpress.com would have to find a way to get their own domain & hosting and install Wordpress on them.

But then again, if you want to be blogging for money, you’d better off getting your own place. I mean, your own hosting and domain names. At least, you don’t have to lose sleep at night should Blogger or Wordpress decided to take down your blog for no reason at all. That happens, and you certainly don’t want that to happen to you too, right?

I guessed I can think of the few reasons why people don’t want to get their own domain & hosting:

1. Cost – some people just said that all they need is just a blog to voice their opinion and don’t see themselves paying for something that they can get for free. True, but if you planned to make your blog big (i know all of us are like that, new or old bloggers alike), you wouldn’t want to waste your effort building something on free blog hosting and lost the blog should the host go bust or they just deleted your blog.

2. Hassle in maintaining – some people i know refuses to get their own hosting & domain because they don’t know how to setup and maintain a site. Well, if Lilian can do it, why not any youngsters? You would love the flexibility and control over how your blog looks and feel like. And if you don’t like one particular blog software, you can always switch to another

3. Just plain lazy – some people they said that they are just plain lazy. Well, if you want to earn some money (by blogging), you’ll have to invest some money & time, right? Easy money is no money at all

I’ll save another blog post on why I got my own domain and hosting in another post, but for now, those who can afford it, and planning to use their blog to earn money, please get your own domain – at least it saves the hassle if the review companies decided to shut all free blog hosting from getting any task.
