ClixSense – make any sense?

I don’t know whether i should promote this program now or not, as this program was just recently launched – in fact, it was only launched like 2 days back. If you are in the online money making scene 1-2 years back, you should have heard of the pay-per-click-and-view concept. No, it’s nothing like Google Adsense’s pay-per-click concept, where you get paid when somebody else clicked on the ads on your side. In this, you logged in to their system, click on the list of available ads, view until the timer runs down, and you get paid. Interested already?

Enter ClixSense, a company aim at getting ads to serve and paying people to view the ads. The concept is kinda simple – register, verify, login, view, click, view, get money. Confused?

1. You’ll need to register for an account first at ClixSense.
2. After registration, you’ll need to verify your email – so make sure you put in a valid email while registration
3. Then login to your control panel and view the available ads.
4. Click on one of the ads, and view until the countdown timers finished
5. You’ll get paid according to the amount allocated for each ads.
6. Repeat 4-5 until no more ads in the list.

For now, the only option of getting money out of ClixSense would be via check, where the default amount for a check to be couriered to you is US$10. But then again, it’ll take quite sometime to get there as for now, i only see a lot of $0.01 ads (yes – that’s 1 cent) – so it’s take a while before reaching US$10. But so far so good – I have already accumulated US$0.32 :P

Of course, that’s what you get if you only have a free (default) account. You can always upgrade to Premium account to get more ads served to you, and bigger value ads (up to US$5 – from the FAQ) would only be served to Premium account members. You can get yourself upgraded to Premium account by parting with US$10.

For now, I’ll just go in as free member, and click the available ads. Some of the listed sites are quite interesting, so that’ll keep me busy for a while :) My advice? Go in, take a spin – if you don’t like it, just don’t click any of it :P

Sounds like a typical web-scam program to me.

Basically, to have a “feel” of whether an ad program is for real, try putting yourself in the advertisers’ shoes. Would you, for example, promote your blog on a site where its members will just look at it, without interaction.

The second red flag would be the existance of a “premium account”. Doesn’t this mean that they’re cutting it both ways, ie. milking money from both the advertiser and the “advertisee”.

Plus the domain itself was registered on 29 December 2006. Much too recent for my tastes.

My RM0.02… please be careful and there’re definitely more proven ways to make money online.

azmeen – i agree. that’s why i won’t upgrade myself to premium account just yet. i’ll just clicking until i got the minimum payout and get the check – and just keep it (as it will be crazy to cash a US$10 check in M’sia – just not worth it). The concept is not new though – you can find similar one in Stormpay’s StormClix. In fact, the invitation email was from Stormpay. I’m just giving this thing a try, since it’s free :)

Beware! clixsense.com own by the same person who own Stormpay, the biggest scam in 2006.

I joined as a free member Feb 2007 and reached the $10 minimum in only two weeks. I used the money from my first payout to upgrade for a year and still had money left so I figured I was in profit already. Since then I have been paid 11 times and upgraded my account again. To date, I used $20 of the money they sent me to purchase two years of upgraded membership. They have paid me over $300 and there’s another check on it’s way for over $34.

Upgrading was worth it for me.

If it’s true about Stormpay, I would definitely stay away. Stormpay scammed me out of some money.
