PayPal - acting up?

I’ve seen a few people who unable to receive/accept payments made to them via PayPal. The reason? They don’t have any US bank account added in their PayPal account. And according to them, they are having some internal system updates. Apparently also, some people I know managed to find workaround to accept the payments, and find people to help them withdraw the PayPal funds out. Some people say it’s doomsday - i say it’s just something temporary :)

Personally, I didn’t get any kind of problem at all with PayPal - partly because I already have a US bank account under my PayPal account profile. So i don’t have that problem, and can still withdraw money from PayPal to my US bank account, and off our ATM machines (via Plus) here. But not at a good rate anymore - the exchange rate was only RM3.40 to US$1.

But it’s still better than just letting my money still stuck in PayPal and could only watched the RM strengthen against US$ :) And also, it’s a good way to further motivate myself (by looking at the stack of RM50 notes) to write more paid posts. You could always find people that you trust to help you withdraw your PayPal funds, although the exchange rate would not be as good (considering PayPal receiving fees & withdrawal fees) - you’d be lucky if you could find any that willing to exchange at RM3.30 for US$1 - the going rate now is at RM3.20 for US$1.

I can help too, if you guys trust me lah :) Email me (ashotiwoth AT gmail DOT com for details.

Lucky you. I had worked around it and hehehe, I can’t complain about the rate I am getting because the money goes into my CIMB without me needing to do anything. The only chore is to keep opening FD to store those RM50 that stacks up real fast. LOL, just joking.
