Looking back 2007
It’s almost like it’s a compulsory thing to do - a look-back kinda post for the particular blog. Well, what have i achieved this year from this blog? Kinda a lot, by the way. I learnt a lot of things that i shouldn’t do in the first place. There’s lots of things that i do in the name of money, that i’m not ashamed to do it again, though may be doing it to a lesser extend this time round.
Not like i have resorted to selling vitamins for women though, although i almost gone into selling stuffs online. This is the year that i found ways to supplement my incomes by blogging. It’s also the same year where i found that by doing that, i risked (and have paid the price of) losing Google PR along the way. With that, now, i guessed i have to balance out a bit, and really think hard what i wanted from blogging.
Let me leave 2007 with a good note. See you in 2008. Oh - a few minutes more. Hehe
New Year’s coming
A brand new year is coming. And the spirit of gift-giving is still pretty much going on, probably left over from the Christmas. So if anybody has any gift to spare, could I have a brand new LCD TV as new year gift? Pretty please?
Well, that’s not the main point of this post. The main point is, the new year will bring this site to a brand new year, and almost coming to one year old. Yep - i kinda wonder how can i blog about making money for almost one whole year?
And to think that i’ve covered just the tip of the iceberg sends me shivers sometimes. There’s more way out there that you can use to make money - legally, of course - that i haven’t discovered just yet. Possibly this new year will bring new things and new discovery for me. And this blog. And to all of you too ![]()
I love my spam filter
Lately, my favourite past time besides blogging and reading up something over the Internet is, clearing the spam in my Akismet filter. And i just loved the feeling of the spams got deleted, and i can view 100 plus spams all in one page and delete it in just one click. I’ll sometimes go like “DIE YOU BLOODY SPAMMERS!”, but tell me, what’s more fun than deleting spams that’s would eventually be deleted anyway once it’s caught in the Akismet filter?
Besides, if you are on to blogging, this is something that should trigger your exciteness and i could go on and on deleting spams and oh yeah, espresso machines to make me more coffees at night, what else could i do besides hunting for spams? ![]()
Feeling refreshed
If you haven’t noticed yet, there’s lesser paid posts topics on this blog, and on my main blog as well. Partly is because i don’t really give that much thought of writing something that’s not worth the pay. Somehow makes me feeling more refreshed and probably better focused on what I want to do with this blog. And probably can think better on what i want to do next.
But i guessed i won’t be using this blog to sell used cisco routers or those kind of things. But then again, you’ll never know - anything that makes money legally can do. Err… i sounded desperate ar??
Merry Christmas!
I haven’t said anything about Christmas yet in this blog. Besides, it’s going to be it’s first Christmas, and i hope it won’t be it’s last
And also, i don’t know how many people are actually reading this blog, but then again, it’s still good to just say it out before it’s too late, right? So here goes:
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
Luckily i haven’t been any much sweets & candies that i needed treadmill to burn that calories away. Just the thought of it scares me. Brrr…
ASB announces dividend & bonus
If you haven’t read around yet, then let me be the one to spill the news to you. This year, ASB has announced 8.00 cent dividend and 1.00 cent bonus. Yep - which other trust funds you know that pays that much (besides LTAT)? I’m kinda already counting my returns this year, and although i wasn’t exactly sure yet, but it’s enough for me to buy bodybuilding supplements for a few years stock. And not that i need it, though
Like i used to write (perhaps in one of my related posts below), start saving as that’s the sure-fire way of making money. And with loan schemes offered by banks to help you save, it’s even better. Just don’t think much about how much you are paying the banks for interest - banks need profits too - think of how much you could made in dividends every year, and that dividend would eventually be bearing more dividend in the year to come.

Less money for your PR?
I was just looking around at one of the paid blogging service that i used just in case if there’s any nice opportunities for me to take. It’s been a while since i took anything from them, so i just dropped by to see. It’s not about me not going to take anything much from them that i wanted to write about, but what some of the advertisers want the writers to write, and what they expect the writers to have.
I think others have wrote about this (i think at least 5xmom have). US$5 a post, and the criteria is at least a PR3. It’s like looking for Wilmington NC real estate in Penang. In this age of Google smacking, there’s not much people left with PR3. And even those who’s still with PR3, i think they won’t even bother looking at US$5 post. Well - at least i won’t even bother. Why should i write something specific with that PR, while i could just write about anything at all and still be paid the same amount?
So you know what i’ll do next ![]()
All I want for Christmas
I know i may sound contradicting with some of my earlier posts, but i’m still gonna write this. Don’t worry - it’s not like i’m peddling some kind of term life insurance or something, but seriously, there’s something that i want for this Christmas. And i want it quite badly. So what i really want for Christmas?
I want a bigger paycheck (kinda obvious).
I want my PR3 back (Mr Google - pretty please).
I want 20% dividend for my ASB investments (i wished).
So what do you wished for Christmas? This post is inspired by the great 5xmom. Heh ![]()
Do you know your phising?
For us with Internet access, there’s definitely chance of coming into contact with this phising thingy. I guessed i’m not going into much details about phising - it’s been here for long, and i guessed it’ll be here for a longer time to come, as long as those responsible in stealing thinks that people’s gonna fall for their trap. If you have email, you’d probably got some kind of phising email.
So what can we do to protect yourself like you’re protecting your piece of designer inspired jewelry? I just logged in to my PayPal account to check my balance, and noticed this link: PayPal’s Can You Spot Phising. I just went to see if i can find anything that i haven’t know yet.

Is blogging dead?
I read 5xmom’s latest post on her verdict that blogging is dead. It kinda really got me thinking - is it really so? I thought blogging was all about expressing whatever that’s in your head? And that - your ideas - is never dead, well, not until you die, at least.
So instead of letting the real estate flipping your mind with whether blogging is dead, why not we just keep it going? I mean, just blogging, for the sake of blogging. I know of some , like what 5xmom said, of the people who seen ads as sins and should be cast away in the deepest hell possible. Seriously, there’s always CPM ads that earns them money without needing people to click or do anything. Just cash in on the traffic.
