Disneyland – here i come!

I’m excited! I’m going to Hong Kong Disney vacations! Woohoo! Means i’ll be spending money. Lucky the exchange rate have been slightly forgiving these days. Not sure if the weather would be cooler than Penang – although weather forecasts says the temperature should be around 20-26 degree Celcius. From the look of it, it’s a lot cooler than Penang.

Pretty excited with the trip – needed that much-needed rest and break from work. Not sure how much it’ll help me unwind from work as i still have to think about performance review for my staffs right after when i’m back from the holiday. But don’t care for now – let me have a good time in Hong Kong first.

10 days to go!

Boost my stocks please

Need some testosterone boosters for my company’s stock price. Can’t even do anything with the stock i purchased many years back. At least if the stock climb back to about USD30/stock, at least i should be able to sell some for profit.

But now, all i can do is just look. And wait. And wait somemore. Based on what i know, the wait is still long. Well, i have time.

Wordpress upgrade again

I just noticed recently, the rate that Wordpress releases it’s updates are getting more and more frequent – more frequent than i get to go on Cabo San Lucas vacations. While it’s a good thing that they issue updates when they found security flaws, but i thought they are supposed to debug even before releasing the earlier updates?

While updating Wordpress now is just a matter of click and upgrade (unlike before where you have to download, extract, upload to replace, and upgrade), it’s still a hassle to be updating them every once in a while. But then again, as long as it’s secure, i don’t mind doing it.

Happy Tiger Year

It’s Chinese New Year in 10 minutes, and it’s Metal Tiger year this year. Not sure what it’ll hold for all of us and particularly myself yet, but i certainly do hope and wished that it’s all good this year as well. Not sure if i’ll be touching any POS systems as part of my jobscope this year, but what matters is got to make sure there’s a good pay rise.

But pay rise, not sure it’ll happen as what i wanted or not this year. Economically, it seems to be better but we never know for sure. If it’s possible, i’m hoping for a change of environment. In whatever i do – work, place to stay. Don’t know what’s going to happen yet but i’m hoping for something good. Let’s hear some good news :)

Nuffnang cheque is in!

And i completely forgotten to snap a picture and already banked it in earlier today. Bummer. Was totally overwhelmed with the cheque that i completely forgotten to take a picture. I should have chilled a bit and don’t let emotions overwhelmed me. Lucky i don’t smoke, else i may have to take a few puffs on electronic cigarette, but that will not serve the purpose as smokers wants the smoke to be real!

Anyway, that aside, i was actually thrilled to be paid by Nuffnang. Never thought i’ll get it. Hehe. Since i have got it now, i’m looking forward for a second one. Which is don’t know when. Dang.

Angpow time

Talking about money, i just went to get some small bank notes exchange to prepare for Chinese New Year. Being married, it’s customary to give other unmarried relatives and kids angpows. And it don’t come cheap – especially if you consider giving to a lot of relatives. Even RM5 a packet can already set me back at least RM500 or more, depending on whether we have any special guests coming that year.

RM500 to RM1000. Enough to buy good and branded MP3 players like iPOD. Lucky that starting last year, it’s no longer only giving but also receiving. Well, not me and my wife, but our daughter. At least getting something back although it’s really receiving on her behalf, and putting it into her bank account. When she’s old enough, then all those money would be transferred to ASB and she can earn better dividend while at the same time, can sort of double as her education fund as well.

Well – that’ll still be long time to go.

Post stop, Paypal stop

I have to start writing again. When i stop writing, my Paypal stopped receiving USD. I have to write more, so that i’ll have more USD, and i can get stuffs online again. I don’t know – there’s way too many things that i want online but i don’t want to really touch my credit card for it.

One thing for sure is the hosting for the sites. Although it’ll not expire till August next year, but i have to start getting something in in order to pay for it then. At least, i can spread out the income so as not to run out of stuffs to write. If i have excess USD, i may want to be paying for my auto insurance quote as well using the USD.

Pray for my success and consistency. Hehe.

Cheque is on the way

One month after my last post on my first cheque request from Nuffnang, i received another email today from them saying that the cheque is now on the way.

“Dear blogger,

Good news! Your cashout has just been marked as ‘Sent’ in our system, meaning the cheque is on its way. If you do not get your cheque within one month, kindly notify us, as cheques are only valid up to six months. All our cheques are sent via HSBC’s Cheque Outsourcing Service in which after a year, all unclaimed cheques will be sent to Bank Negara. Claiming cheques from Bank Negara may incur administrative costs.”

Cool news to me, although it’s probably not much for me to buy electric blanket, but still cool as i never thought i’ll be requesting payout from them. But it’s going to be here after all, and in time for Chinese New Year :) Power of Tiger!

First earning request from Nuffnang

Finally, i reach the earning threshold to get pay out from Nuffnang. Not much though – RM50, but it’s still money and i’ve requested for cash out. From their FAQ, i should be expecting the cheque in 30 days time (since i’m a Glitterati member). I hope i don’t have to need to be calling their call center services in case the cheque didn’t come :)

Never really know how the cheque will look like, but what i know is that this is going to be the first cheque i’ll received from a local Malaysian company – all generated from my blogs. And i’m kinda proud to say that i’m lucky i didn’t ditch all my blogs in the first place. Well, while RM50 won’t get you much, but at least, it’s better than no money at all.

Let’s see how it goes – i may post up the cheque picture when i received it as well – if i didn’t forget all about it :)

Buy house, sell house

Been looking at this option to explore if we can make money out of buying and selling properties, especially new projects in Penang and KL/Selangor area. There’s people i know who are actually making a living buying and selling properties. Well, at least it helps supplement their home income.

The reason i didn’t venture into this is the fact that i need quite a big sum of capital to play with. Well, initially at least, as once you started making money out of the first sales, you’ll have that profit to use as capital for next purchase. I guessed i have to get books on properties trading to understand more.

But i do realised one thing – shophouses are better money-earner than houses/apartments. But of course, it all depends on the locations. Something i got to learn more.
